Water in Dumfries fountain turns green
A member of the public has added washing-up liquid or something similar to the water system.
The fountain on Dumfries High Street is to be emptied and cleaned after someone added washing-up liquid or something similar to the water system, turning it green.
A Dumfries and Galloway Council spokesperson said:
“Dumfries and Galloway Council officers are aware that a member of the public has added washing-up liquid or a similar substance to the water system of the fountain in Dumfries. Officers will be emptying and checking the water system as soon as possible to ensure that the water condition is returned to normal.”
