Almost £1m worth of cannabis plants recovered in Dumfries drugs raid

Cannabis plants worth £954,000 have been recovered following a police drugs raid in Dumfries.

A property in Friars Vennel was searched by Police Scotland under warrant at around 1pm on 1st February 2026.

A 47-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the discovery.

He is expected to appear at Dumfries Sheriff Court today (2nd February 2026.)

Detective Sergeant Allister Queen described the operation as a "significant recovery" and said it is part of efforts to disrupt illegal drug activity in Scotland.

"Drugs cause misery in our communities and the public has an important role to play in helping Police Scotland target those responsible for the cultivation, supply and sale of illegal substances."
