Dumfries and Galloway councillors have been granted a special full council meeting to consider changing the political party in charge.

For the last two years, the Conservatives have been the administration, but this request received support from a “sufficient number of councillors” from all parties.

It has been scheduled for June 16th at the council’s headquarters on English Street in Dumfries.

All papers and the agenda will be published online in due course.

The council says there will be no further comment at this time.
