The Castle Douglas Soap Box Derby is inviting teams to show off their creativity and racing skills at this year’s event on 12th July.

Participants are encouraged to build soap boxes that are not only fast but also funny or outrageously creative, making it an event full of clever engineering, wild themes, costumes, and big laughs.

Organisers are calling for teams to gather their mates, form a team, and get involved in one of the most anticipated community gatherings of the year.

With plans to have around 30 teams, organisers are hoping to achieve the highest record of entries in the history of the event.

The aim is to make this year’s derby the biggest, loudest, and most unforgettable one yet.

For those seeking glory, chasing ultimate derby victory is also on the agenda.

Teams interested in being part of this exciting event should build their soap box, name it, and prepare to race it at what promises to be a day filled with crowd-pleasing chaos and excitement.
