A man in his 20s has died following a single-vehicle crash in North Dorset, prompting a police appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage.

The collision, involving a grey BMW, occurred at around 9.27am on Tuesday 22 July 2025 on the A357 Cook’s Lane near Spire Hill Farm in the Stalbridge area.

Emergency services attended the scene, but the driver was sadly pronounced dead. Dorset Police have confirmed that his family has been informed.

Road closures remain in place to allow emergency services to examine the scene and carry out investigative work.

Police Sergeant Dave Cotterill, from the Roads Policing Team, said:

“Our thoughts are very much with the family and friends of the man who sadly died in this collision.

“I am appealing for any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please come forward.

“Also, I am keen to speak to any motorists who captured footage of the incident, or the moments leading up to it, on a dashcam.

“Finally, I would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures are in place.”

Anyone with information or footage that may assist the investigation is asked to contact Dorset Police via their website or by calling 101, quoting incident number 22:113.
