Police are treating the death of a woman found at a flat in Bournemouth as "suspicious."
Emergency services were called to a report at around 2:55am yesterday (1 July) that the body of a woman had been found at an address in Paddington Grove.
A 51-year-old woman from Bournemouth was confirmed dead at the scene and her next of kin were informed.
Dorset Police say a cordon remains in place at the scene while enquiries are carried out to establish the full circumstances of the death.
The force added that they are currently treating the woman's death as "suspicious."
Chief Inspector Nicola Jenkins, of the Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT), said: “We have launched an investigation to establish the full circumstances surrounding the death, which is currently being treated as suspicious.
“I am keen to speak to anyone who has witnessed any suspicious activity in the area of Paddington Grove between Tuesday 9 June and Wednesday 1 July 2026 to please come forward. You may have vital details to help us establish what has happened.
“There will be an increased police presence in the area while we work to establish what has happened and we would encourage anyone with information or concerns to please speak with an officer.
“Our thoughts are with the victim’s family at this incredibly difficult time, and they are being kept updated with the progress of the investigation.
"As our investigation continues, we would urge people to respect the privacy of those involved and to not speculate on social media without verified facts."
