Woman faces court in connection with Dorchester cyclist's death

Weymouth woman charged after cyclist died following collision

A 54-year-old woman from Weymouth has been charged in connection with a fatal collision involving a cyclist in Dorchester.

Dorset Police reported that the collision occurred at 7:35 am on the 16th of May 2025 on Bridport Road and involved a white Fiat Panda and a bicycle.

The cyclist, identified as 50-year-old Justin Loveland, was transported to Southampton Hospital, where he died on the evening of the 17th of May 2025.

Following an investigation by Dorset Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Team, the woman has been issued a postal requisition.

She is due to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on the 29th of May 2026, facing a charge of causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving.
