Crash in Dorchester leaves young motorcyclist injured

Police seek information following collision at a busy junction

Police are urging witnesses to come forward after a serious road collision in Dorchester on 16th March 2026.

The crash happened at approximately 6:44pm at the junction of Cornwall Road, Maumbury Road, Great Western Road, and Damers Road.

It involved a lorry and a motorbike.

An 18-year-old motorbike rider from Weymouth was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The authorities closed the road while emergency services attended to the scene.

Police Sergeant Paul Hind from the Roads Policing Team said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision and has not yet spoken with officers to please come forward.

"Also, I am keen to hear from any motorists who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.”
