Weymouth: Appeal after fail-to-stop crash

Dorset Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward following a fail-to-stop collision in Weymouth.
Officers received a report of the incident at 4.12pm on Tuesday 17 June 2025.
That's when they say a road traffic collision involving a car and a cyclist happened, over on Dennis Road in Weymouth.
It was reported that the car failed to stop at the scene.
Emergency services attended and the cyclist, a 12-year-old boy, was taken to hospital with injuries believed to be serious but not life-threatening or changing.
His next of kin has been informed.
Enquiries are ongoing to locate the car involved, which has been described as a black or grey hatchback type vehicle, of a similar shape to a Nissan Micra, with pink and orange flower stickers on its side.
Police Constable Michael Jones, of Dorset Police, said: “We are carrying out extensive enquiries into this collision and I would urge any witnesses or anyone with information that might assist our investigation to please contact us.
“I would also urge anyone who was driving in the area and has dashcam fitted to their vehicle to please check their footage for anything of relevance.
“Furthermore, I would like to make a direct appeal to the person involved to please do the right thing and come forward.”
