Road closures might delay trips to Wareham Community Hospital
Patients advised to allow extra time as Southern Gas Networks replace gas mains
Road closures will begin this week in Wareham, potentially causing delays for those visiting Wareham Community Hospital and using one of the town's main car parks.
Southern Gas Networks is undertaking work around Stretche Road, affecting access to the main car park and the hospital beyond.
While alternative routes are available, patients travelling to the hospital are advised to allow extra time for their journey.
The closures are part of work to replace gas mains, which could continue until the third week of October.
Stretche Road and Pound Lane, near the former Purbeck District Council headquarters, will be completely closed.
Cow Lane and West Walls are also expected to be closed until 23rd October.
Two-way traffic lights are already in operation on Worgret Road, prolonging journeys to and from the town centre.
Wareham Community Hospital will remain open and operational during this period.
