Walker rescued from cliff near Chapmans Pool

A walker who became stranded on a cliff during a coastal walk near Chapmans Pool has been rescued by the coastguard.

Coastguard teams were called to the scene at around 15:30 yesterday (March 17) after the walker took a "wrong turn."

They found the walker on the west side of Chapmans Pool.

Teams carried out a a rope rescue operation with a rope technician lowered down to the walker who was placed in a harness and winched up to safety.

The Kimmeridge Coastguard said once safe and away from the cliff edge they were checked over for injuries and given safety advice.
