Police appeal as two women hospitalised in serious Blandford crash

An appeal has been launched by Dorset Police for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward after a serious crash near Blandford.
The incident happened on Thursday (July 31) at about 4.30pm, when a collision occurred on the A350 Blandford Road near to the Golden Fox pub in Sturminster Marshall involving a black Audi Q3 and a grey Ford Fiesta.
Officers say the driver of the Audi – a woman aged in her 70s from the Poole area – and the female driver of the Ford, aged in her 20s from Poole, were both taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.
Road closures were put in place to allow emergency services to safely treat the injured people. The road reopened at around 7.45pm.
Police Constable Dan Yates, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this collision and are seeking anyone with relevant dashcam footage to please get in touch.
“I am also keen to speak to any motorists who saw the incident or the manner of driving of the vehicles in the moments leading up to it.
“I would like to thank the public for their patience while the road closure was in place as this allowed us to carry out a detailed scene examination to assist our investigation.”
