Two men have been jailed for their involvement in a public place violence incident in Bourmemouth.

2\6 year old Adwy Hady, of no fixed abode, has been sentenced at Bournemouth Crown Court to three years and nine months behind bars.

He admitted two counts of inflicting GBH with intent, and possessing a bladed article in public.

2\6 year old Ali Mohamed Nakouda, also of no fixed abode, has been handed a 27 week prison sentence after admitting affray.

The charges relate to a fight in Meyrick Road in January 2024, involving two groups of men - Hady and Nakouda were found to be the main aggressors.

CCTV and witness accounts showed how Hady pulled a sharp item from his pocket and made violent slashing motions towards three victims.

Two men suffered slash and stab wounds, while the third wasn't seriously hurt.

Nakouda was arrested at the scene, with Hady eventually arrested in May 2024.

Detective Chief Inspector Darren Moores, of BCP CID, said: “We take reports of public disorder on our streets extremely seriously as we recognise the impact violence of this nature has on our communities.

“The events in Meyrick Road on Thursday 25 January 2024 will have had a significant impact on those who were unfortunate enough to witness what was taking place and also left two people with nasty injuries.

“We have been determined to hold those responsible for initiating the violence to account and send a message that this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated.”

Chief Superintendent Heather Dixey, BCP LPA Commander, said:

“Bournemouth generally remains a safe place in which to live, work and visit, however we recognise that when violent incidents of this nature do occur, it can have a considerable impact on the local community, especially those in the vicinity at the time.

“Officers responded swiftly on the day and detectives have worked tirelessly to investigate any offences and bring those responsible to justice.

“We will continue to work with our partners to ensure we respond robustly to reports of public place violence and provide a reassuring presence to our communities.”
