Two people-smugglers have been jailed for a total of 3 years and 10 months after attempting to smuggle Vietnamese migrants into the UK by hiding them in the boots of hired cars.

Border Force officers at the Port of Poole stopped two vehicles after noticing unusual movement in large sport holdalls located in the rears of the cars.

The individuals, Fousseymou Soumare and Ange Clavery, were found guilty of assisting unlawful immigration into the UK and were sentenced at Bournemouth Crown Court.

Both men reportedly claimed they had been recruited via Snapchat and had been offered €1,000 each for their involvement in the smuggling operation.
