A teenage motorcyclist has been seriously injured in a crash in Bournemouth this morning (Friday 7th March).

Police were called to Talbot Road just before midday, to a collision involving a grey Renault Captur and a black Lexmark motorbike.

The 19 year old rider, from Poole, has been taken to hospital, and his next of kin informed.

The road remains closed for now while investigations are carried out.

Sergeant Mike Gatfield, of the Traffic Department, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this collision to establish the full circumstances and I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please make contact with us.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who was driving in the area and may have seen the vehicle before the incident or captured relevant dashcam footage.

“Road closures have been put in place to allow the emergency services to respond to this incident and I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding.”
