Teenage boy taken to hospital after reported serious assault in Bournemouth

A teenager has been taken to hospital following a reported serious assault in Bournemouth.

Dorset Police received a report on Sunday 26th April 2026 at around 7.18 pm, that a 16-year-old boy had sustained suspected stab wounds in the Maclean Road area.

The boy was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries believed to be serious.

An investigation was launched and a cordon put in place to allow an examination of the scene to be carried out.

A 17-year-old boy from Poole and another 17-year-old boy from Bournemouth have now been arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent.

They remain in police custody.

Detective Inspector Neil Jones, of BCP CID, said: “We are carrying out extensive enquiries in relation to this incident and I am keen to hear from any witnesses or anyone who may have information that might assist our investigation.

There will be an increased police presence in the area while enquires are carried out and the force say members of the public can speak to officers about any concerns.

Officers would like to hear residents in the area with home CCTV or doorbell cameras as well as motorists with dashcams who may have captured footage relevant to the investigation.
