Teen assaulted in suspected stabbing in Weymouth

A 19-year-old man has been hospitalised following an altercation near the junction of Dorchester Road and Melcombe Avenue in what is believed to be a stabbing.
Dorset Police received a report of the incident at 9.16pm last night, on Thursday 16th April 2026.
The teenager was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are not considered life-changing or life-threatening.
Detectives from Dorset County CID have launched a full investigation into the incident.
A cordon has been established at the scene to allow for examination, but no arrests have been made.
Officers said: "Dorset Police received a report at 9.16pm on Thursday 16 April 2026 that a 19-year-old man had been assaulted near to the junction of Dorchester Road and Melcombe Avenue.
"It was reported that the victim had sustained a suspected stab wound. He was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.
"A full investigation has been launched by detectives from Dorset County CID and a cordon has been put in place to allow for an examination of the scene to be carried out.
"No arrests have been made at this time.
"There will be an increased police presence in the area and officers can be approached by members of the public with any information or concerns."
