Syrian teenager sentenced for raping woman on Bournemouth seafront
It happened in July last year
A teenager from Syria has been jailed for raping a 19-year-old woman in a portable toilet on Bournemouth seafront.
Mohammed Abdullah, 19, will spend six years and nine months behind bars.
He was convicted earlier this year, following a trial at Bournemouth Crown Court, of the rape and assault by penetration of the woman in the early hours of July 6, 2025.
Abdullah had travelled with friends from London and encountered the intoxicated woman alone on the beachfront.
She'd been out in Charminster before heading to Bar So in Bournemouth, and eventually parted ways with a friend to walk home.
During this time, Abdullah offered her a lift on his e-bike and led her to a portable toilet where he assaulted her.
Abdullah, who lives in West Drayton, Middlesex, arrived in the UK from Syria in 2023 and was given permanent leave to remain under a family reunion scheme.
