Second man arrested after serious assault in Bournemouth

Detectives, who are continuing to investigate a reported serious assault in Bournemouth, have made a further arrest.

Dorset Police received a report at 12.30am on Tuesday 28 April 2026 that a man had been assaulted outside Barbara’s Bier Haus in Old Christchurch Road.

The 19 year-old victim was taken to hospital, where he remains.

A 25 year-old man from Bournemouth was previously arrested on suspicion of assault by beating and affray and was released on bail.

Further enquiries have been carried out and a 22-year-old man from Bournemouth has now been arrested, on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent. He remains in police custody at this time.
