Free Christmas Day journeys on the Sandbanks Ferry in festive gesture
Donations for the RNLI are being welcomed
Travellers using the Sandbanks Ferry this Christmas Day, 25th December, will be able to ride for free.
The ferry operator has announced that all journeys will be provided at no cost to passengers as a festive gesture.
For those who wish to contribute, collection buckets will be available on board for the RNLI, allowing passengers to donate the equivalent of the toll fee to the lifesaving charity.
Normal service will operate throughout the remainder of the festive period.

In a statement, the operator said on Facebook: "A reminder that on Christmas Day, all journeys on The Sandbanks Ferry are free of charge.
