A boat with 2 adults and 3 children and a dog on-board has been rescued in Poole.

Crews have shared the news in the 'choppy' conditions over the weekend.

Sharing details of the callout, the RNLI said: "Poole lifeboat was requested to launch (Saturday May 31) just before 7pm to a report of a 30ft Motor Cruiser taking on water.

"The stricken vessel with 2 adults, 3 children and a dog on-board were in Studland Bay.

"Conditions were bright, choppy with a strong south westerly breeze 4-5.

"The lifeboat was soon on scene, the vessel had moored on an eco-mooring.

"Two crew were transferred across to check that everyone was okay and to check the ingress.

"The decision was made to escort the vessel back through the harbour to Port of Poole Marina, for the vessel to be checked out, as it seemed the ingress had abated, however the boat was only running on one engine.

"When all was safe and secure the lifeboat returned to station, refuelled and was made ready for service by 9.30pm,

"This was the 35th call out for the Poole Lifeboat volunteers."
