Police have launched an investigation following a burglary and subsequent fraudulent use of a bank card.

Between 4am and 4.40am on Thursday 2 October, an unknown person gained entry to an address in Dawkins Road.

A handbag containing bank cards was stolen, as well as a mobile phone.

The bank card was subsequently used at the Esso garage in Blandford Road at around 4.40am.

Police Constable Ben Gregory, of Poole police, said: “We are carrying out an investigation to identify the person responsible.

“At this time, we do not have a description for the suspect and we are speaking to the garage about obtaining CCTV footage from when the bank card was used.

“However, in the meantime I would ask anyone who was at the forecourt around the relevant time and may have captured any relevant footage to please come forward.

“If you have any information that may help us identify the offender, please get in touch.”
