The investigation into the death of a man found unresponsive in a tent in a wooded area off Holes Bay Road in Poole has concluded with no criminal charges.

Dorset Police responded to the report at 8.12am on 3rd April 2025 and pronounced the man, aged in his 40s from Bournemouth, dead at the scene.

Initially, a 19-year-old man from Poole was arrested on suspicion of murder to gather information and provide legal protection.

Following thorough enquiries, including toxicological and pathological examinations, detectives from Dorset Police's Major Crime Team found no evidence linking the death to a criminal offence.

The arrested man has been released and will not face further action.

The deceased's family has been updated throughout the investigation.

The case will proceed to inquest, with detectives assisting HM Coroner as needed.
