Police seek witnesses after woman in her 20s reportedly assaulted in Verwood

Dorset Police are appealing for witnesses following an alleged assault and criminal damage incident in Verwood.
The incident reportedly took place between 3pm and 3.30pm on 3rd June 2026, when a woman in her 20s driving a grey Nissan Qashqai along Manor Road towards The Grove.
The male passenger, known to the victim, allegedly turned aggressive, damaging items inside the vehicle before assaulting her.
He reportedly left the vehicle on Burnbake Road and fled on foot.
Following investigations, a 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and assault.
He has since been released on police bail as enquiries continue.
Police Constable Poppy Norman, of Dorset Police, said: “We are carrying out extensive enquiries into this incident and I would urge any witnesses or anyone with information to please contact us.
“I would also urge any motorists who were in the area around the relevant time to please check any dashcam footage for anything that might assist our investigation.”
