The incident took place at 4.18pm on Saturday, 11th April 2026, involving a white KTM motorcycle on Hurn Road, between the junctions with Avon Avenue and Avon Castle Road.

Emergency services attended the scene, and the family of the injured man has been informed.

Dorset Police are seeking witnesses or any dashcam footage that might help with their investigation into the collision.

Sergeant Dave Cotterill, of the Roads Policing Team at Dorset Police, said: “We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this collision and I am keen to hear from any witnesses who have not already spoken to police.

“I would also urge anyone who was travelling in the area of Hurn Road around the relevant time to please check any dashcam footage to see if they have captured anything that might assist our investigation.

“Finally, I would like to thank motorists for their patience and understanding during the road closures. These are necessary to allow the emergency services to safely respond and for a thorough examination of the scene to be conducted.”
