Police launch witness appeal following suspicious fire in Weymouth
A fire was started near B&M on Souter Way yesterday morning.
Dorset Police have launched a witness appeal after a suspicious fire took place in Weymouth yesterday morning.
The incident happened next to the B&M on Souter Way at around 10.30am. The fire is believed to have been started deliberately. The shop's perimeter fencing was reportedly damaged.
Police Constable Jake Ward, of Weymouth police, said: “I understand a member of the public took a picture of two people who may have started the fire."
“We have not spoken to this person and we would ask them to please get in touch so we can get their account of what they saw."
“I am also keen to hear from anyone else who was in the area and saw any suspicious activity or captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage."
“This type of reckless behaviour can have serious consequences and we will be doing all we can to identify those responsible.”
