Police are investigating what they're calling a "suspicious incident" in Wool where two boys were approached by a man in a white van.

It is reported that at around 3.30pm on Thursday 27 November 2025, two boys were walking along Dorchester Road near the junction with Bailey’s Drove when they were approached and asked to get into the van, but they ignored him and carried on walking.

The man did not make any further efforts to approach them.

He is described as being a white male with short brown hair and aged in his 40s, and was wearing a grey shirt and grey trousers.

Police Constable Bethany Shave, of Dorset Police, said: “We have been exploring all lines of enquiry in relation to this incident to establish the full circumstances and I am now appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken to us to please come forward.

“I would also urge any motorists who were driving along Dorchester Road at the relevant time with a dashcam fitted to their vehicle, as well as anyone with home CCTV or a ring doorbell, to please check for any footage that may assist our enquiries.

“I appreciate this incident may cause concern for the community, but please be assured that officers are carrying out patrols in the vicinity and can be approached by members of the public with any concerns.”
