Police continue appeal to find man who escaped from custody
Police are continuing in their search to find a man who escaped from lawful custody.
At arounf 5:30pm on Thursday 32-year-old Jason Evans was reported to have made off from a privately operated prisoner transport vehicle in Poole Road.
Evans was charged with assault and other offences and had appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Thursday and remanded by the court. Following his court appearance, he was being transported to a different location by a privately operated prisoner transport company when he made off.
Detective Chief Inspector Helen Deakin, of Dorset Police, said: “We are continuing to carry out detailed enquiries to locate Jason Evans and return him to lawful custody.
“We now believe that he has been in the Southbourne area and has been moving between locations in Bournemouth and Poole.
“If you have any information that may help us locate Jason Evans, or you believe you may have seen him trying to avoid detection, please urgently get in touch. Do not approach him directly, but dial 999 immediately so we can respond.”
