Police appeal for witnesses after collision in Weymouth

A man in his 70s was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries not believed to be serious

Dorset Police are appealing for witnesses or motorists with relevant dashcam footage to come forward following a road traffic collision in Weymouth.

The force received a report at 3.13pm on Friday 9 January 2026 of a collision involving a red KIA Ceed and a pedestrian at the junction of Portland Road and Parkmead Road.

The pedestrian, a man aged in his 70s, was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries not believed to be serious.

Police Constable Nathan Boissé, of Weymouth police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident to establish the full circumstances of the collision.

“I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police, as well as any motorists who may have captured relevant dashcam footage, to please make contact with us.”
