Police investigating reported hunting offences near Sherborne

Police are investigating a reported illegal fox hunting incident near Sherborne.

Dorset's Rural Crime Team is looking to hear from witnesses or gather phone or dashcam footage from fields around Bishops Caundle and Alweston on Saturday afternoon (1st February).

It's believed a fox was chased by hounds between 2.00 and 2.30pm, which would be an offence under the Hunting Act 2004.

PC Sebastian Haggett, of the Rural Crime Team, said:

“We are carrying out enquiries into the report to establish what happened.

“I am keen to hear from anyone who was in the area and either witnessed the incident or captured something of relevance on camera footage.”
