Investigation underway after an attack involving an 18-year-old man

An 18-year-old man has been hospitalised following a reported assault in Bournemouth, prompting police to seek public assistance for information.

Dorset Police received a report about an unoccupied vehicle in the middle of Lincoln Avenue at 12.26am on Sunday 7th June 2026.

Later, at around 2.20am, a man arrived at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, including stab wounds to his arm and leg, and head injuries.

Detectives say the man, 18, claimed he was stopped while driving when two men approached, threatened, and assaulted him.

Arrest Made

Another 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the assault after being discharged from the hospital.

He is now in police custody.

Investigations continue to identify any further individuals involved in the attack.

Police Appeal for Information

Detective Inspector Jon Sainsbury, of BCP CID, said: “We have launched a full investigation to identify those involved in this incident and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

“From our enquiries we understand that a taxi reportedly pulled up at the scene during the incident, which is believed to have prompted the offenders to flee.

“I am keen to identify the driver of this taxi as they may have information to assist our investigation.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who captured any relevant dashcam, home CCTV or doorbell camera footage.”
