Police investigating a collision near Wimborne are appealing for information, as they issue an image of a man they want to identify.

A grey Fiat Ducato van, a white Scania Tipper truck and a black Volkswagen Passat were involved in the incident on Wednesday (9 September) on the A31 between Canford Bottom Roundabout and Merely Roundabout.

Reports suggested the Fiat Ducato van was on fire and the driver of the Volkswagen Passat had left the scene.

Two occupants of the Fiat were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Searches were carried out for the driver of the Volkswagen Passat but he was not located.

Police Constable Chandler Organ, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “We are carrying out a detailed investigation into this collision and I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please get in touch.

“I would also ask motorists who were travelling in the area around the relevant time to please review any dashcam footage to see if they have captured anything that might assist our enquiries.

“As part of my enquiries, I am issuing an image of a man I would like to identify. I would ask anyone who recognises him to please get in touch.”
