Police appeal after collision in Ferndown area between car and motorcycle

It happened shortly after 4pm on Thursday 30 July 2026 near to the junction with Ham Lane

Officers investigating a road traffic collision in the Ferndown area are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.

Dorset Police received a report shortly after 4pm on Thursday 30 July 2026 of a collision involving a red Nissan Qashqai and a white Modena motorcycle on Ringwood Road in Longham, near to the junction with Ham Lane.

Dorset Police said: "Following the collision, it was reported that the female driver of the Nissan initially asked for the motorcycle rider’s telephone number but then stopped communicating and refused to give her details".

The rider of the motorcycle, a man aged in his 20s, subsequently attended hospital for treatment to injuries including three cracked ribs.

Police Constable Jayne Addison, of East Dorset police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this collision and I would like to speak with any witnesses who have not already had contact with police.

“I would also like to hear from any motorists who were in the area and may have captured relevant dashcam footage.”
