Police appeal after Bournemouth public indecency reports

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information, after a series of reports of incidents of outraging public decency in Bournemouth.

Three reports were received of a man performing an indecent act in the area of Christchurch Road at around 3pm on Friday 24 April, Monday 27 April and Tuesday 28 April 2026.

A report was also received of a naked man taking his clothes off while following a woman in the area of Alumhurst Road at around 9pm on Monday 20 April 2026.

A further report was received of a naked man performing an indecent act in Marlborough Road at around 1am on Thursday 9 April 2026.

A 54-year-old man, of no fixed abode, was arrested on suspicion of outraging public decency. He has been released on police bail.

Police Constable Maddie Duncanson, of BCP CID, said: “We recognise the distressing nature of these reported incident and we have been carrying out a detailed investigation into these matters.

“Following these enquiries, a man has been arrested and we are continuing to gather evidence to establish a full picture of what happened. I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please come forward.

“I would also ask anyone who may have relevant home CCTV, doorbell camera or dashcam footage from the relevant times and locations to please contact us.”
