Police appeal after reported sexual assault on Bournemouth beach
The incident reportedly happened at around 6pm on Sunday 12 July
Police are appealing for information following a reported sexual assault at Bournemouth beach.
The incident allegedly occurred around 6pm on 12th July 2026 in the water near the pier when a man reportedly approached a family group and touched a woman in her 40s inappropriately.
The man involved is described as being of Indian descent and approximately five foot six inches tall with black hair and a small stubbly beard.
He was reportedly wearing a white T-shirt and black shorts at the time.
A 35-year-old man from London was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and later released on conditional bail.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Police Constable Matthew McGuinness from Dorset Police expressed the need for witness assistance.
“We believe that there were independent witnesses that saw the incident and I am appealing for them to please contact us as this could assist our investigation,” McGuinness said.
