Currently the stadium does not meet Premier League compliance standards.

A tunnel for grounds staff and emergency access is proposed in the south-east corner.

The extension to the north stand will facilitate an additional 1200 seats, a serviced concourse with toilets and food/drink provision will be located at ground level.

A new large screen will be installed in the north-east corner of the stadium.

A covered open air fan zone is proposed including pop up drink and food offerings and merchandise.

Cycle and Beryl Bike parking will be available with a total of 590 car parking spaces proposed.

Public artwork will be used to provide focal points and act as meeting points.

The club is also proposing to adda Changing Places facility and sensory room, along with 10 new accessible lifts.

A Section 106 agreement will secure money for infrastructure improvements including a £110,000 contribution for upgrades at Pokesdown station, including wider exits, better entrance access and wayfinding.

It will also cover about 2,000 parking permits for four years, plus signage and enforcement, and provide £80,000 towards off-site walking and cycling improvements.

Planning consultation attracted 58 objections, 129 letters of support and nine comments.

Supporters highlighted community benefits, economic boost, improved facilities and access to matches.

Concerns raised issues with traffic, parking pressures increased congestion, loss of daylight, overbearing scale, reduced outlook, property value impacts and noise.

The report concludes: “On balance, the benefits of the scheme outweigh the adverse impacts on neighbouring amenity. As such, the scheme is recommended for approval.”

The proposal will be debated at a planning meeting on Friday, May 22 before a decision is made.
