Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant footage to come forward as they investigate a disturbance at Bournemouth Beach during which a colleague was injured.

At around 6.10pm on Saturday 21 June 2025 officers on patrol in the vicinity responded to reports of a disturbance involving a large group of people in the area of Pier Approach.

It was reported that a male teenager was being assaulted by a group of people and officers went to intervene and separate those involved.

As they were doing this it was reported that a glass bottle was thrown from a large crowd that had gathered in the area, which struck an officer to their left side, causing significant bruising and discomfort.

Officers were able to safely escort the individual who was reportedly being assaulted from the scene and police remained in the area to provide reassurance and ensure there was no further disorder.

Police Constable Jo Morgan, of the Bournemouth Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We are continuing to conduct enquiries into this incident, and I am keen to hear from anyone with information that might assist our investigation.

“In particular, there were a number of people in the area who appeared to be filming on their mobile phones, and I would urge anyone with relevant footage to please contact us.”
