Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward following a fatal road traffic collision in Bournemouth.

Dorset Police received a report at 5.58pm on Thursday 10 July 2025 of a collision in Talbot Avenue, near to the junction with Roslin Road, involving a grey BMW and a black and white Honda motorcycle.

Emergency services attended and, very sadly, the motorcyclist – a man aged in his 40s – was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin has been informed.

The occupants of the BMW did not sustain any serious injuries.

Road closures and a cordon were put in place to allow the emergency services to respond to the incident and for an examination of the scene to be carried out.

Sergeant Richard Stroud, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “Our thoughts a very much with the family and loved ones of the man who sadly died in this collision.

“It is our duty to establish the full circumstances of what happened and our enquiries into this remain ongoing.

“I would urge any witnesses, or anyone who captured any relevant dashcam footage, to please contact us if you have not already spoken to police.

“Finally, I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding during the road closures, which are necessary to allow the emergency services to respond and for a detailed examination of the scene to be conducted.”
