Crews undertook a number of re-inspections, where they identified further hotspots.

These were later extinguished and they officially left the scene on Wednesday afternoon.

The cause is still unknown at this time.

In a post on their Facebook page, bosses said: "We plan to reopen on Friday 4 April and look forward to welcoming everyone back.

"We will be open as usual.

"There will be a few diversions in place in the forest.

"We ask everyone visiting to please respect and follow these.

"Please stay on the forest tracks and keep dogs under close control, using a lead where necessary.

"We would like to thank the Dorset and Hampshire fire services for their hard work and support in dealing with these incidents.

"Thank you for your support and patience."

The message is that there is currently an Amber wildfire alert in place for the Service area, and crews are urging people to take extra care while enjoying open spaces in the sunshine.
