Police release CCTV image of suspect linked to hate crime
Police in Bournemouth are seeking help to identify a man involved in what they report to have been a racially motivated assault, captured in a newly released CCTV image.
The incident occurred at around 6.45am on Friday, 10th July 2026, near East Cliff Zig Zag, where two men were approached by a stranger who subsequently became racially abusive and assaulted them.
During the altercation, the suspect reportedly threw a traffic cone at the victims, resulting in a minor injury to one of the men’s arm.
Police Constable Sydney Gibbons from Bournemouth police said: “We take all reports of hate crime very seriously and have been exploring all lines of enquiry in relation to this incident.
“We are now in a position to release a CCTV image of a man we are looking to identify as part of our enquiries and I would urge anyone who recognises him to please contact us.”
