Man pleads not guilty to sexual assault of woman in her 50s

A 28-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to the sexual assault of a woman in her 50s.

Eshwin Soobhug, of Windmill Lane, Ringwood, east Dorset, is accused in connection with the incident in Avon Castle Drive in the St Ives area of Ringwood in the early hours of July 27.

The Mauritian national appeared at Bournemouth Crown Court where he entered his plea to the charge of sexual assault by penetration.

Judge Robert Pawson adjourned the case for a trial to start on February 11, with a further hearing on December 8, and remanded the defendant in custody until then.

He told Soobhug: "Your trial is going to be on 11 February next year. To make sure we are on track for the trial, we are going to have another hearing on 8 December and I am going to say you have to be produced on that date."
