Man in his 50s attacked near Lyme Regis Baptist Church
Police seek witnesses and motorcyclist who helped victim
A man in his 50s was assaulted near Lyme Regis Baptist Church on Friday evening, 20th March 2026.
The attack occurred at around 8.45pm on Silver Street.
After a brief exchange of words, two male suspects attacked the victim, who sustained facial injuries and was later hospitalised.
A passing motorcyclist stopped to help the victim, prompting the offenders to flee the scene.
The suspects are both described as white and aged between 16 and 20, standing around five feet 11 inches tall.
One male was of a very slim build, with straight short hair and dressed in a black top and black tracksuit bottoms.
The second male had light brown hair, was of slim build, and wore a grey tracksuit.
Police Constable Eniko Cracknell from West Dorset police said:
“We are carrying out a full investigation into this incident and I am keen to hear from witnesses or anyone with information relating to the individuals involved.
“I am also keen to speak to the motorcyclist who stopped to assist the victim.
“Finally, I would urge any motorists who were in the area to please check their dashcam footage for anything that might assist our enquiries.”
