Man who escaped custody in Poole arrested in Bournemouth

A man who reportedly escaped from lawful custody in Poole has been arrested in Bournemouth.

On the evening of 2nd April 2026, Dorset Police were informed that 32-year-old Jason Evans had fled from a privately operated prisoner transport vehicle on Poole Road.

Following extensive enquiries over several days, Evans was located and arrested on the afternoon of 6th April 2026 at an address in Bournemouth.

He was apprehended on suspicion of remaining at large after recall to prison.

The force have expressed their gratitude to the public for sharing appeals and providing information that assisted in the search.
