Man dies following motorbike crash near Dorchester

A man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene

Police are appealing for information following a fatal road traffic collision near Dorchester.

The incident occurred at around 11:10am yesterday (Saturday) and involved a red Benelli motorbike and a white Vauxhall Corsa on Warmwell Road in Crossways.

The rider of the motorbike, a man aged in his 20s from Weymouth, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin has been informed.

The driver of the car did not sustain any injuries.

Sergeant Jon Rowland, of Dorset Police's Roads Policing Team, said: “Our thoughts are with the loved ones of the man who very sadly died in this collision.

“We are investigating the circumstances of what happened and would like to hear from any witnesses who have not already spoken to police, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage.

“Road closures were put in place while an examination of the scene was carried out and I would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding while they were in place.”
