A man has died following a collision on the Ameysford Roundabout along the A31 in Ferndown.

The incident happened at around 8.45pm yesterday (Saturday 22 February).

The driver of a white Peugeot 308 – a 43-year-old man from West Sussex – was pronounced dead after sustaining serious injuries.

Road closures from multiple directions in the area remain in place while officers carry out a detailed examination of the scene.

Police Sergeant Richard Stroud, of the Roads Policing Team, said:

“Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of the man at this difficult time and we have specially trained officers supporting them.

“This incident occurred on a very busy stretch of the A31 and I understand there were a number of motorists in the area who may have seen what happened.

“I would ask any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please come forward.

“Also, I am keen to hear from anyone who may have captured any dashcam footage to contact us.

“Finally, I would like to thank the public for their patience with the road closures while we investigate the scene.”
