Man charged in connection with Weymouth attempted robbery

A man's been charged in connection with an attempted robbery at a Weymouth shop, in which a staff member was injured.

The incident happened at the Morrisons Daily in Littlemoor in December.

An employee was threatened with a suspected air weapon.

A 44-year-old man from Weymouth has now been arrested and charged with attempted robbery and having an imitation firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence.

He's appeared before Poole Magistrates on Friday (21st February) and is due at Bournemouth Crown Court next month (27th March).

A 27-year-old man from Weymouth, previously arrested as part of the investigation, has been released without charge and faces no further action.
