Dorset Police have confirmed that a man has been charged in connection with reported robbery and exposure, following an incident in Christchurch.

Officers say how it was reported that between 7.30pm and 9pm on Wednesday 30 April 2025 a teenage boy was walking in Mudeford Woods – close to the entrance near the Somerford Road roundabout – when he was approached by a man, who was unknown to him.

It was reported that the man exposed himself and made sexualised comments towards the victim, as well as taking his phone and damaging it. The victim reportedly then managed to run away and return home.

Following a detailed investigation by detectives, a 37-year-old local man was arrested and he has now been charged with robbery, criminal damage, exposure and inciting a child under the age of 16 to engage in penetrative sexual activity. He is due to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 8 July 2026.
