Man charged after Poppy Appeal tin taken from Dorset community centre

£200 was reported stolen from Greyfriars Community Centre earlier this month

A man has been charged after a Poppy Appeal collection tin containing £200 was stolen from a community centre in Ringwood.

The theft happened at Greyfriars Community Centre on Christchurch Road on Sunday 2nd November.

Sean Johnathon Cooper, a 31-year-old man of no fixed abode, has been charged with theft and non-dwelling burglary with intent to steal.

The charges relate to both the Poppy Appeal tin theft and a burglary at a business premises on Meeting House Lane in Ringwood on Monday 10th November.

Cooper, who is from Southampton, is due to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court this morning (Wednesday 12th November).
