A man has been charged after a collision in Bournemouth town centre yesterday (December 15).

The incident occurred at around 12.25am on 15th December 2025 on Old Christchurch Road, near the junction with Wootton Gardens.

It involved a black BMW and a pedestrian, who sustained injuries to his leg and arm but did not require immediate medical treatment.

According to police, the BMW left the scene after the collision and was later spotted by officers on Lansdowne Road, where it allegedly failed to stop for police.

Following further enquiries, a 25-year-old man from Bournemouth was arrested.

He has now been charged with attempted grievous bodily harm with intent, possessing a knife or bladed article, possession of a class C drug, driving a motor vehicle dangerously, failing to provide an evidential specimen, and failing to stop a mechanically propelled vehicle when required by a constable.

The suspect, a Saudi Arabian national, who police say gave his self-defined his ethnicity as any other Asian background, is due to appear at Poole Magistrates' Court on 17th December 2025.

Detectives are continuing their investigation and are urging witnesses or those with relevant dashcam footage from the area to come forward.
