Investigations continue after a man's body was found in a tent
A man arrested on suspicion of murder in Poole, following the death of a man found in a tent, has been bailed.
Detectives say they're continuing to investigate after a man in his 40s from Bournemouth was found unresponsive in a wooded area off Holes Bay Road on Thursday morning (3rd April).
It's believed the victim had been assaulted in Chapel Lane in Poole the day before (Wednesday 2nd April).
A 19 year old man arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on bail while enquiries are ongoing.
There's an appeal for anyone who witnessed an altercation in the Chapel Lane or Dear Hay Lane area between 1.00 and 1..30pm on 2nd April to contact police.
Officers also want to hear from any drivers in the Sterte Road, Sterte Close and Holes Bay Road area between 3.15 and 4.15pm that day as well, if they have dashcam footage that could help with the investigation.
Detective Inspector Shaun Inkpen, of Dorset Police's Major Crime Investigation Team, said: “Our thoughts remain with the family of the man who sadly died, and they have been kept fully updated with the latest developments in our investigation.
“Following extensive enquiries over recent days, an individual was arrested in connection with this incident, which was made in order to enable us to gather as much information as possible while also providing legal protection to the man concerned.
“He has now been released on police bail as we continue our detailed enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding the death. We would continue to urge anyone with information that might assist us to please submit it via the Major Incident Public Portal.
“As our investigation continues, local officers can be approached by anyone with information or concerns.”
